Lead, Light Vehicle Mechanic

We’re seeking an experienced and skilled mechanic to lead our light vehicle maintenance team. As Lead Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our fleet of light vehicles, as well as provide leadership and guidance to our team of mechanics.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on light vehicles, including cars, vans, and SUVs.
2. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement effective repairs.
3. Repair or replace faulty or damaged parts, including brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and engines.
4. Lead, motivate, and develop a team of mechanics, providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure technical excellence.
5. Allocate work assignments to team members, ensuring efficient use of resources and meeting deadlines.
6. Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
7. Ensure the team adheres to safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards.
8. Manage inventory of parts and materials, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
9. Provide regular reports on team performance, vehicle maintenance, and repair metrics.
10. Assist in managing the budget and costs associated with vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Requirements

1. 10 years proven experience as a mechanic, with a strong understanding of light vehicle maintenance and repair.
2. Experience leading a team of mechanics or technicians, with a proven track record of team development and performance improvement.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with team members, management, and external stakeholders.
4. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
5. Relevant certifications, such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) or equivalent, are desirable.
6. Strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and communication skills.
7. A positive, proactive, and customer-focused attitude.
