Procurement/Logistics Officer

Job Summary

The Procurement/Logistics Officer is responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, preparing purchase orders, and coordinating the movement, delivery, and storage of goods. The role ensures timely procurement, cost efficiency, accurate documentation, and smooth logistics operations in compliance with company policies and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Duties

  1. Source, evaluate, and select credible suppliers/vendors.
  2. Prepare purchase orders and ensure compliance with procurement procedures.
  3. Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions.
  4. Track purchase requisitions and ensure timely delivery of requested items.
  5. Maintain vendor records, price lists, and procurement documentation.
  6. Monitor supplier performance and maintain healthy supplier relationships.

Logistics Duties

  1. Coordinate logistics for inbound and outbound movement of goods.
  2. Track deliveries and follow up with suppliers or transporters.
  3. Verify delivered items (quality, quantity, specifications) before acceptance.
  4. Liaise with stores/warehouse for proper receiving and documentation.
  5. Arrange proper transportation, dispatch, and distribution schedules.
  6. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards during logistics operations.

Documentation & Reporting

  1. Maintain accurate procurement and logistics records (POs, invoices, delivery notes).
  2. Prepare weekly and monthly procurement/logistics activity reports.
  3. Ensure document filing, transparency, and audit readiness.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

OND / HND / B.Sc. in: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics & Transport, Purchasing & Supply, Or related field

Experience

  1. 1–3 years experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain roles.
  2. Experience working with vendors, transporters, and warehouse teams is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  1. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  2. Knowledge of procurement procedures and inventory systems
  3. Good understanding of logistics and transportation operations
  4. Proficiency in Excel and ERP/inventory software
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  6. High level of accuracy, accountability, and integrity
  7. Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  8. Good record‑keeping and reporting skills
