Job Summary:
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and directing Battregen’s field sales activities within designated industrial areas to achieve revenue targets and foster long-term customer relationships. This role involves managing the sales team’s performance and schedules, overseeing the development and maintenance of the customer database, implementing customer retention strategies, ensuring effective territory coverage through mapping and agent allocation, and controlling the payment collection process. The Sales Manager is accountable for meeting departmental sales goals and driving the team towards success.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Team Management & Performance:
    a. Lead, manage, motivate, and oversee the daily activities and schedules of sales personnel/agents.
    b. Monitor and control the daily output and performance of the sales team against key metrics.
    c. Drive the team to meet and exceed departmental and personal sales goals.
    d. Provide coaching, guidance, and support to sales team members.
  2. Territory Management & Market Development:
    a. Oversee the mapping of designated industrial areas within the territory.
    b. Conduct surveys and analysis of mapped areas to understand market potential.
    c. Allocate specific territories/areas to individual sales agents and ensure effective coverage.
  3. Sales Execution & Customer Contact:
    a. Ensure proactive contact with potential and existing customers by the sales team.
    b. May involve direct contact with key customers or handling escalated issues.
    c. Oversee follow-up activities post-service implementation to ensure customer satisfaction.
  4. Customer Database & Retention:
    a. Oversee the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of the company’s customer database (CRM).
    b. Develop and implement strategies focused on customer retention and minimizing churn.
  5. Sales Operations & Administration:
    a. Control and manage the system for collecting payments from customers, ensuring timely receivables.
    b. Monitor and report on sales activities, pipeline status, team performance, and market feedback.
    Qualifications & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field is preferred.
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in B2B sales, ideally within industrial products/services, automotive, energy, or technical sectors.
    • Minimum of 2-3 years in a sales leadership, supervisory, or management role involving direct management of field sales personnel or agents.
    • Proven track record of successfully meeting or exceeding sales targets, both individually and as a team leader.
    • Experience working with CRM systems for customer database management and sales tracking.
    • Experience implementing customer retention initiatives.
    • Experience related to payment collection processes is highly desirable.
    • Strong understanding of B2B sales methodologies, pipeline management, and closing techniques.
