Executive Role Overview
Eta Zuma Mining & Industries Limited is seeking a high-calibre and results-driven Head of Information Technology (IT) to provide enterprise-wide leadership of the organization’s technology strategy, infrastructure, and digital transformation agenda.
This role is a senior leadership position responsible for aligning technology with business priorities across the Group’s operations in mining, energy, and manufacturing. The successful candidate will drive innovation, optimize IT systems, and ensure a secure, resilient, and scalable technology environment that supports business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise IT Strategy & Digital Transformation
- Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with corporate objectives and growth plans
- Lead digital transformation initiatives across core business units and corporate functions
- Identify and implement emerging technologies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and competitive advantage
- Provide strategic advisory to Executive Management on technology investments and innovation
2. IT Governance, Operations & Infrastructure
- Provide oversight of enterprise IT operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of systems
- Lead the planning and execution of infrastructure projects, including network optimization, cloud adoption, and systems integration
- Establish and enforce IT governance frameworks, standards, and policies
- Ensure effective management of IT assets across their lifecycle
3. Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Develop and implement robust information security frameworks to safeguard organizational data and systems
- Monitor and mitigate cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and risks
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Oversee security audits, penetration testing, and incident response protocols
4. Business Continuity & Resilience
- Design and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Ensure resilience of IT systems to support uninterrupted business operations
5. Leadership & Organizational Development
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the IT function
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing IT team
- Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
6. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and service providers
- Lead contract negotiations and ensure delivery of high-quality services
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align IT services with business needs
7. Financial Management & Optimization
- Develop and manage the IT budget in line with strategic priorities
- Monitor IT expenditure and drive cost optimization initiatives
- Ensure optimal allocation and utilization of technology resources
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline (Master’s degree or relevant certifications is an added advantage)
- A minimum of 10–15 years’ progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven experience leading IT strategy and transformation in complex, multi-entity or industrial environments
- Strong expertise in enterprise infrastructure, systems architecture, and cybersecurity frameworks
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and large-scale enterprise applications
- Strong commercial and strategic acumen with the ability to align IT initiatives with business outcomes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and decision-making capability
